WCFDA Fashion Incubator Party
Last night Collective 26 had the great pleasure of attending the WCFDA Fashion Incubator party at the W Buckhead Hotel. The CFDA showcased 4 of their fashion incubator designers, including; Burkman Bros., Emanuela Duca, Daniel Vosovic and WHIT. We were lucky enough to meet Daniel Vosovic and Ben of the Burkman Bros. Both Daniel and Ben were so kind and they offered some really great advice. Meeting them was def. a BIG highlight in our night! (Also their lines were really awesome, so you should totally check it out!) We also met blogger Cameron Adams who runs atlantastreetfashion.blogspot.com. Check out his blog post about the event, you might see some familiar Collective 26 faces! Q&A with our "IT" girl Destinee.
Here at Collective 26 we have been so fortunate to be able to work with an amazing group of people! A part of this team is our gorgeous "IT" girl Destinee who is beautiful inside and out. We just adore Destinee! She always brings such a bright, fun, kind and happy spirit with her and she totally rocks every outfit. We think she embodies everything Collective 26 is. We asked Destinee a few questions, here's what she said...
C.26-What's your favorite music right now?
D- Indie music and R&B …my views change a lot because I like to listen to almost everything so much so that I don’t even set my radio to any certain station!
C.26-What's your favorite thing about modeling?
D-#1 Favorite would have to be traveling to different places even though right now I don’t get to do it as often as I’d like to. The next favorite things I love about modeling are meeting all kinds of new people where some turn into friends and of course wearing so many different types of clothes.
C.26-What's your fashion mantra?
D-Classy! It has to be comfortable & classy not trashy. Sometimes there is a fine line there (I've been taught) plus it's how you carry yourself in the clothes you wear. If I had a choice to choose my favorite type of classy clothes, they would have to flow freely, look sharp & be comfortable too.
C.26-What outfit from C.26 was the most fun to wear?
D-That’s a hard choice because they were all fun to wear but I’d have to say the (gypsy look), long grey flowy skirt and dark grey see through cover up over the small top & the dark gray matching head scarf. It made me feel like I could dance around in it all day!
C.26-What piece from C.26 is a must have for S/S 2013?
D-Impossible to give just 1 answer! There are too many pieces to mix and match together & wear separate too that you can’t just choose one. If someone told me to go quickly grab an outfit off the rack, I’d probably pick the white pants & fun white frilly top…then grab a skirt w/any cover up top as I ran past the rest of the group of designs. :) Of course when summer comes, one of the classy, sophisticated swimsuits are a must have too for 2013! Sorry, it’s too difficult to just pick one.
C.26-What is your favorite thing about Collective 26?
D-That’s easy, it gives a variety of choices for all 4 seasons and color choices that mix & match with almost everything you already have in your closet…now that says a lot!

L.A. Fashion Week Recap!
The Collective 26 team had an awesome time in Cali. and we just wanted to thank everybody that helped make the show come to life. The runway show was so much fun and we made some great new friends. :)
The models looked gorgeous and the overall tone of the show had a laid back, hip vibe. We can't wait to share the video with you!

Here's what they had to say about the line, "Fashion Institute of Technology of NYC alumna Felicia Barth-Aasen ended the show with (Collective 26), a high-end contemporary women’s line that featured timeless looks that are wearable in today’s American culture. It was a mix between bohemian and grunge– messy but in its own way very sheik. One of my favorite pieces from this collection was a form fitting blue-knit dress that was simple in shape but so intricately designed, bottomed with an exaggerated see through fringe. The thick fabric headbands definitely added a cool, hipster vibe to the whole collection." -The Los Angeles Fashion
